President's Message

Dear Members, 

As I write this last message to you as President, I have just come from the annual brunch meeting this afternoon at The Grand Chalet. It was a wonderful event, the buffet was vast and everything I tasted was delicious. Thanks so much to Ruth Elk and Grace Zucaro for making it happen! Also, thanks to everyone who donated food or money for the Center For Food Action. I am sure they will be so pleased to receive the bounty from our pantries. Also, many thanks to Tony Perino who graciously took all of the food to bring over there for us.

Our annual election was held at the brunch meeting, and below are the results:
President – OPEN
Social – Ruth Elk and Grace Zucaro
Golf – Camille McEntee and Geri Powder
Membership – Jane Kalfus and Pat Pack
Communications – Flo Wiener

As you can see, our chapter will begin January 2012 without a President, unless one (or two) of our members can see their way to taking on this rewarding responsibility. For your information, as long as this position remains open, the Social Committee will be obliged, according to our By-Laws, to take on the job. Our chapter has somewhere around 80-85 members. Isn’t there anyone who would like to share his or her leadership skills while giving back to our organization? Contact Linda Madernini (lmadernini@ramapo.edu ) if you decide to help us out.

I want to take this opportunity to thank this year’s Board for all of their help and support during 2011 – Ruth, Grace, Debbie, Beverly, Jane, Gus, Sandy, Geri, Joe, Corinne, Linda and especially, Donna Beland, who has worked tirelessly for a good many years on Communications and from whom I am taking over (wish me luck!).

Hoping to see MANY of you at the Holiday Party – we have entertainment, dancing, and our own bartender this year!
