President's Message

Dear Members, 

Despite an all-day snowstorm, 16 intrepid members met at the Bonefish Grill on February 16, a re-scheduled date from the original February 10th meeting date. Kudos to everyone in attendance and our many thanks to Ruth Elk and Grace Zucaro for arranging a terrific dinner at a really comfortable venue!

Our Membership, Golf and Social Event chairs have been keeping busy so far this winter, planning an exciting year for 2010. Our Membership co-chairs Jane and Gus have been experimenting with some imaginative ideas for bringing in new members and have seen some success so far. Thanks also to Geri Powder, our new Social Events chair who has stepped right up and planned some fun events. She has put together a survey that will hopefully give her input from the membership about what kinds of social activities interest you, so please complete it and get it back to her. In the meantime, watch your e-mail for upcoming escapades! Finally, our Golf Co-Chairs Lisa and Bert have hit the ground running, with early season outings already planned. Check the newsletter and your e-mail for updates.

We already have two definite weekend outings, Water Gap in June and Renault Winery in September. Make sure you note the dates and reserve early. A third weekend at Shawnee in August will probably be added shortly.

Please consider either running an outing or suggesting courses that would be new an interesting locations for us to hold an outing. It’s not that difficult and the rewards and thanks of your fellow members are worth the effort. Perhaps you and another member can run an outing together.

Finally, I encourage everyone to bring a friend to a meeting or mingle to meet our convivial group and hopefully, join our chapter.

Spring is almost here!
 

We are now into our winter time (no golf for non-travelers) season, filled with friendship and fun, wherever we can find it.
